Connecting kids with nature
Prani – a pet sanctuary off Kanakapura Road, is a nice place that children enjoy visiting that develops their heart rather than just merely their intellectual knowledge. It creates a wonderful memory for them. Such interaction helps them overcome any intimidation, and gives good confidence with our fellow earthlings.
Its a well-maintained place, and we spent a few hours having lunch at at an outdoor dining table under some nice shady trees. We then went on their guided tour around the place visiting different animals, and then were left free to explore the place ourselves.
There was a lot to learn from the informative guides, interacting with different kinds of animals out there. Only a few of the animals are covered in this post.
A couple of iguanasβ¦ seemed to be somewhat intimidating…
…maybe because of the influence of some or the other movie.
On the contrary, they actually turned out to quite adorable!
…even huggable π
Ahh…. right there… thank you… π
Plenty of cute fellows…
A dog actually doing the dog-asana π
A good friend greeted us…
And was quite friendly like the others…
Ok… let sleeping dogs lie… but a beautiful one though… π
Plenty of birds of different feathers flocking together…
It feels quite crazy initially… but gradually it turns out to be real fun…
These young goats are teething… so take care they might bite, no kidding!
A red-eared slider turtle (thanks Deepa)… the info we learn about them is quite interesting…
May not be so melodious, but nevertheless they still maintain their pen meticulously clean…
Thoroughbred relatives…
Prani is beautifully maintained by the very energetic Sanjeev.
As Uma put it, the best way to stay in touch with Prani is to volunteer with them. She added that they need people to help them keep the place clean the place and groom their animals, especially in the mornings. They also welcome sponsorship or adoption of animals and this is an ideal place where children who love to have pets but are under constraints can connect to animals. More details are available on their Prani Visit website. We could see, as they’ve explained on their site, the way they follow high standards of sanitization for safety of any visitors.
